Billie D. Tedford, Major, USAF (Retired)

Billie D. Tedford, 64, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2003 at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carolyn R. Tedford; son, David Tedford of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Julie Werst and husband Bill of Fort Collins, CO, and Carrie Schmidt and husband Michael of Alpharetta, GA; mother, Zell Tedford of Salem, KY; brothers, Don Tedford and wife Mary of Newburgh, IN, Tom Tedford and wife Darlene of Salem, KY, and John Tedford of Salem, KY; and many grandchildren.

Bill grew up in northwestern Kentucky and southern Indiana. He married Carolyn on October 19, 1963. During his 20 years of service in the United States Air Force, he was a pilot, a navigator, and served his country in the Vietnam War. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Bill thoroughly enjoyed volunteering for the New Mexico Republican Party and tinkering with his computers. He was a loving granddad and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bill was very resourceful industrious and handy. Bill and his wife have been residents of Albuquerque for 27 years.

Visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2003 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, followed by a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to the parish hall at St. Bernadette’s, 11401 Indian School Rd.
