Dale N. Weeden, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)
July 11, 1934 – October 01, 2004

Dale Niemann Weeden passed away October 1, 2004, at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in 1934 in McClain County, Oklahoma, to the late Harry & Gladys Weeden.

A retired Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force and a Vietnam veteran, Dale Weeden served his country as a pilot of numerous aircraft. He was also an instructor at the Naval Air Station in Kingsville, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Smyth Weeden of Corpus Christi, Texas; a daughter, Lou Ann Cooper of Katy, Texas; two sons, Douglas Weeden (Melanie) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dale Weeden (Connie) of Richardson, Texas; a sister, Norma Waugh (Eldon) of Stillwater, Oklahoma and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcomb Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030.

Major Weeden served in the Vietnam War as a HH-3E pilot with Det. 1, 40th ARRS in the 1968-time frame.
