Gene mentored a young friend of ours about 19 years ago who had a passion to become a pilot. He is now a pilot with Alaska Airlines and said this about Gene: “This is hard. Guys like Gene were iron and inspired me to pursue my passion. Rest Captain White. I’ve got this next leg.”

His comments really touched me and the kind of person Gene was to so many, especially his family and friend and how fortunate I was to have him with me for 20 years.
