Lanty Hale White, 91 of Newport News Virginia, passed away July 31, 2022, in New Orleans surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 8, 1931, in Fayette County, WV, and lived his later years in Virginia and Louisiana.
He served his country for 4 years in the Air-force during the Korean War as a helicopter mechanic.
He was an accomplished engineer at Newport News and Avondale, LA shipyards.
In his spare time, he was a master craftsman who built furniture, home additions and renovations.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Barbara Mahaffey White.
He is survived by a sister Lenore Hutter, son Stephen White, daughter Terri Jurgelsky (Steve), grandchildren Ryan, Sarah (Richard), Stefanie (Brandon), Rodney (Annette), and Chris, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
