Desmond Roy Wilkerson, PFC, USAF (KIA)
March 23, 1927 – November 28, 1950
WEST JORDAN – Graveside services for Desmond Roy Wilkerson, 23, killed in Korean action Nov. 28,, 1950, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in West Jordan Cemetery. Hill Air Force Base personnel will conduct rites.
Born March 23, 1927, Los Angeles, to Dr. and Mrs. Roy T. Wilkerson, Parowan. Married Shirley Gardner in West Jordan April 21, 1949.
Served in World War II and was with the 3rd Rescue Squadron in Korea when killed.
Awarded posthumous Distinguished Service Cross and other decorations.
Survivors: widow, Mrs. Shirley Wilkerson Fletcher, a son, Desmond, both Ayer, Mass., a brother, David L., Salt Lake City.
