John H. Winter, Major, USAF (Retired)
September 13, 1934 – November 17, 2007
Winter, John H. age 73 of West Knoxville passed away November 17, 2007, at Park West Hospital.
He was a Christian and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and was a retired U.S. Air Force Pilot with 29 years’ service. He retired from Con Coal Corp.
Survived by wife: Sally Bickford Winter; son & daughter-in-law: John David & Tatanya Winter of Knoxville; daughters & sons-in-law: Laura & Ken Caves of Knoxville, Rebecca Winter of Atlanta, Amy & Randy Wilkerson of Cookeville, Tn, five grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law: Laura Jo & Victor Horn of St Louis. several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association East Tennessee Region 4708 Papermill Dr Knoxville, Tn 37909.

Major Winter served in the Vietnam War as a HH-3E pilot with the 37th ARRS in the 1969-1970-time frame.
