Donald J. Wolbert, Jr., 71, of Tionesta, PA, died on Monday morning, November 26, 2018, while doing what he loved, hunting, in Crown, PA.

He was born in Crown on September 05, 1947, son of the late Donald J. and Vera M. “Betty” (Lutz) Wolbert.

Donald graduated from North Clarion High School in the class of 1965 and served in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant and helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War. He married his wife of 48 years, Patricia L. (Mast) Wolbert, at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Tionesta on June 27, 1970. She survives.

He drove truck for area businesses for many years and helped in his father-in-law’s business, Mast Plumbing and Heating. Together with his wife and family, he owned and operated Tionesta Propane for 27 years. He was Catholic by faith and was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation. He loved to hunt and spend time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, D.J. Wolbert III and his wife Wendy Ann of New Tripoli, PA; his daughter, Cheri L. Switzer and her husband Nathan E. of Tionesta; five grandchildren, Reece Wolbert of New Tripoli, PA, Nicholas Johnson of Tennessee, Brandon and Brodi Switzer of Knox, PA, and Colby Whitehill of Brookville; his great-grandson, Gaven Boylan of Hooker, PA; three brothers, Dennis Lutz and his wife Celia of Wichita, KS, and Gary “Pete” Wolbert and his wife Donna and Michael Wolbert and his wife Jana, all of Crown; Seven sisters, Linda “Minnie” Siegel and her husband Dan of Tylersburg, PA, Darlene “Deedee” Wolbert and her husband Gib of Lucinda, PA, Lori Wolbert of Tionesta, Anita “Mousie” Wolbert of Crown, Rita Mellon and her husband Robert of Pittsburgh, PA, Rose Weaver and her husband Paul of Miola, PA, and Amy Glass and her husband Gary of Venus, PA; his mother-in-law, Maxine L. Mast of Tionesta; his sister-in-law, Susan Wolbert of Shippenville, PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald “Bowe” Wolbert, and his paternal grandparents, Florence and Sebastian Wolbert.

Friends will be received at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 117 Lencer Drive, Crown, PA 16220 on Friday, November 30, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at which time a Memorial Mass will be celebrated with Fr. Christopher M. Barnes, celebrant. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
