Garland A. York, Lt. Colonel, USAF (Retired)

Garland Alvin York, 72, of Alta Vista Street, a retired Air Force pilot, died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Gainesville.

Born in Marion, Va., Mr. York moved here in 1982 from Albuquerque, N.M. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the National Association of Retired Officers.

Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly C. York, DeBary; and a brother, Rudy York, Charlotte, N.C. Altman-Long, DeBary, is in charge.

Lt. Colonel York served in the Vietnam War as a HH-3E pilot with Det. 2, 37th ARRS in the 1967-1968-time frame.
