Elwood Airman Hurt In Crash

ELWOOD — Word that her son, Airman 3-C Marvin Eads, was involved in a helicopter crash Sunday has been received by Mrs. Leona Eads 113 N. Anderson St.

Young Eads is stationed at teh Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. He an other Air Force personnel were on a training flight when a mechanical defect caused the helicopter to crash.

Eads suffered only scratches and shock. His condition is reported good, his mother was informed. He was dismissed from the hospital Sunday evening but will remain under observation.

Two officers also were injured in the crash. Eads has been stationed at the Florida base for slightly more than a year.
